Course Overview
What this Visual Basic Programming course covers, how to use it, prerequisites.
A structured, hands-on course on Visual Basic .NET (VB.NET). It runs from your first Console.WriteLine to object-oriented design, generics, LINQ, XML literals, async programming, Windows Forms and WPF desktop apps, databases with ADO.NET and Entity Framework, interop, testing, and deployment. It also covers VBA (Office automation) and classic VB6 for legacy work.
Targets Visual Basic 16.9 on .NET 8/9/10 (and .NET Framework 4.8 where relevant). Microsoft keeps VB stable and supported on modern .NET, with no major new language features planned. New C# features are generally consumable from VB, but not always authorable.
