Installing Pharo
The Pharo Launcher manages images and VMs:
3.1 Pharo Launcher (recommended)
The Pharo Launcher manages images and VMs:
Download it from pharo.org/download (Windows installer, macOS DMG, Linux zip).
Run it; in the *New* image dialog, pick a template: *Official distributions → Pharo 13.0 (stable)* (or 12.0).
Give the image a name and click *Create Image*. The Launcher downloads the matching VM automatically.
Select the image and click *Launch*.
The Launcher also lets you copy, rename, delete, and archive images, choose VMs, and create images from CI builds or custom templates.
3.2 Command-line installation (zeroconf)
Zeroconf scripts produce pharo (headless) and pharo-ui launchers, an image, changes, and sources.
mkdir mypharo && cd mypharo
curl -L https://get.pharo.org/64 | bash # latest stable image + VM
# or a specific version, e.g. Pharo 13 with VM:
curl -L https://get.pharo.org/64/130+vm | bash
./pharo-ui Pharo.image # open with UI
./pharo Pharo.image eval "3 + 4" # headless evaluation → 73.3 Other dialects
Get the others from their sites (see the table in §1.5).
